what's the secret behind your smile

When it rains it pours. But of course I’m not referring to the current weather in Vancouver and I don’t want to jinx anything.

What I’m referring to is networking, contacts, getting new content going and being really happy with where this whole ‘blogging’ thing is taking me. I know I’ve complained about my day job in the past (and it still totally sucks) but that’s all it is, a day job. Although it would be completely wickedly awesome if I could combine things I’m passionate about with a 9-5 but alas, sitting here typing from my work station/gopher hole is as close as it’s going to get for right now.

Yesterday I was in touch with at least five people in regards to blogging/my blog – and to me that’s a big deal.

There are a couple projects that I don’t think I’m at liberty to divulge but the main HUMEGA one involves John [audihertz] as the mastermind, and BOY it’ll be a doozy! Aside from that, I get to meet J.J. from the Canucks Hockey Blog [chb] tonight to pick up my ‘major award’ from the Vancouver Canucks Op Ed [vcoe].

Last night we were supposed to meet up with Preston and Linus for a big celebrational-type dinner but apparently after Preston said “this Wednesday” to me in person he then typed “August 23rd” in an email that night and of course I didn’t notice. So John, Jen and I all show up at the restaurant last night and yeah, it was the wrong night.

There’s a lot on my plate right now and I’m just adjusting. Hopefully I’ll be able to make a few announcements on here in the coming days, including something new over at our Amazing Race 10 Blog [AR10] for the coming season.

Tomorrow is the launch/unveiling of Workspace [abetterplacetowork] and it’s also a vacation day for me so we’re finally checking out the Vancouver Canadians [vcb] in the afternoon. I’m going to be SO ready to crash this weekend (John, can we have a beach day Saturday?).
