safeway score and win - explained
I’ve decided to look up the rules, regulations and stipulations to find out how I can better my chances at snagging that cordless phone, rolex, vaccum, or movie prize pack.
According to the official site, SafwayScoreAndWin.com: “Everytime you shop at Safeway & you swipe your Safeway Club Card, you are automatically entered.” Although the Official Rules & Regulations on the site are for the 2005-2006 season, I’m sure the same thing applies this time around. Basically AT ANY TIME between now and next summer, you swipe your Safeway card while making a purchase and you’re in. There are also BONUS products, if you purchase the “featured” product for the week, as announced during Sportsnet games, you get an extra entry.
But wait, there’s more ways to enter!
No purchase necessary - just mail in your vital info along with a participating product label (real or courtesy of your fab artistic skills) and you’re in the draw too.
Now, the “draw” is for prizes as listed above and on the site, golf clubs, snowboard, watch etc. For the $1,000,000 prize a) your will be the only name drawn and announced as the contestant in this category for a particular game b) a player on the Vancouver Canucks must score 5 goals, not including shoot out goals in that game. A tall order for sure but imagine watching the Canucks kick that much ass AND walking away a million bucks richer that night?
So next time you’re out grocery shopping, head to Safeway (although their prices are higher and their produce is lacking) and swipe your club card. Look for the tag (with the logo pictured just above) and get your bonus entry. The chances seem pretty slim, but it’s worth a shot - I mean, it’s not like we’re going to stop buying groceries any time soon. Admittedly though, it’s not as amusing as the Power Play Contest on TEAM1040, where they announce your entry is courtesy of your Filet O Fish purchase at McDonald’s last night.

What major grocery chain do you think offers the best produce?
5 goals would be nice…

Shit! I go to Safeway and swipe all the time and I NEVER get on there!
That’s why I don’t buy Lotto tickets!

The safeway nearest to me has always been lacking in the produce department. There is a new save-on foods that offers a greater variety and has a lot of organic produce, which I like. I dont’ often shop a superstore because of the utter inconvenience of it but I think they probably win in that department overall.

Yeah the chances seem pretty slim - I mean for EVERYONE that shops there during the season? Eep!
Last night the person who was in the running for the million dollar prize got a trip to Mexico - just for being the contestant. I think they make up some rules as they go along… hmm :p

I’m at Safeway at least twice a week but have given up on shopping for produce there (maybe some onions or bananas, but not much else).
Anyone else win air miles from those scratch cards? I think I’ve won like 100 miles in the last year.

aw man, no luck at all on the scratches AND no luck on the ‘back to school’ bingo thing. a friend of ours won a watch, though I think he was joking when he told us :p

I have always noticed that the winners always seem to be from somewhere in Northern BC, for some strange reason. And I completely agree with you on the produce at Safeway. Nothing like trying to buy apples from there and when lifting one up to inspect it a million fruit flies fly away. (aleast that is my experience at the Safeway in Port Coquitlam)…. I would rather shop at Save On. Too bad they don’t have the the contest happening.
