First Taste of Hospital Music

If you didn’t hear a demo being streamed off Matthew Good‘s MySpace when it existed, you now have another chance to listen to a different tune that will be on his upcoming album, Hospital Music [MG].

Since the redesign of MatthewGood.org they (by “they” I mean Dale & Matt) have added in a bagillion and one cool, sleek little functions all while keeping with a minimalistic theme. That’s kind of the idea. If you would like to comment, you need to register but that gets you into the “Community” from there you can access downloads, forums and the streaming track posted today, “A Single Explosion”.

Some proactive fans and commenters have already jotted down the lyrics and Matt confirmed. Here’s a little sample, I don’t want to post them all because you should go check all this out for yourself.

…I dreamt last night I saw you
A single spark explosion negotiating with the dead
By the bright lights in some ICU
On my chest you put your head
And said there you are
There you are
There’s my heart

I assure you, this is just the tip of the iceberg that is Hospital Music.

Not to de-value this tune at all, but dude – it gets SO much better! I’ve had my “favourite” song from the new album stuck in my head for weeks. I can only remember about 5 lyrics but I can remember the tune – and it’s amazing. I think it’s Dan‘s fave too, actually I think Dan calls it “his” song 🙂

Not to insult Sonny, as he’s the shit, but he has not been involved with the development of the website, only Matt and I at this point.

I felt compelled to write this because I’ve been the one up till 5am hammering out code most nights. Credit should always be given where it’s due, but so so removed where it’s not.

Sonny backs my bag up if I need hardcore advice on hosting, MySql and other server issues, and is more involved as an author these days.

Oops fixed! – Credit where it’s due, for sure, you do great work, man 🙂

Oh thank god for you, I hadn’t been to the website in so long.
Just reading those lyrics seemed like coming home?
I’ve been listening to the history teacher bootlegs lots lately…
