What’s Your Blog Rated?
Alas, thats what the website “What’s My Blog Rated” says about us here at blogging.la with its PG rating. Presumably for a little light violence (it picked up the word “punch” being mentioned 3 time, and “dead” once). Heck, even LAist got a PG-13. The reason? Their page mentions puke and sex. And you’d think LA Observed would get a G. Nope - another PG-13… apparently Kevin Roderick said “death”, “hell”, and, get this, “tit”! [Metblogs LA]
Of course I plugged in “Miss604.com” right away, and it came back with a “G” rating including one instance of the word “limbs”. I then told John the url and he jotted down “audihertz.net/blog” and same thing - a “G” but pointed out such dangerous keywords as “bomb” and “hurt”.
This was too much fun so I decided to check out a few of my daily reads - some are a little surprising.
The Tyee: Rated PG - due to the use of “torture (x1)”
RadioZoom Podcast: Rated G - with “suck (x1)”
Beyond Robson: Rated R - including keywords as “hell (x3) and gay (x1)”
Metroblogging Vancouver: Rated G - including the word “dead (x1)”
MatthewGood.org: Rated G - including two instances of “ass (x2)”
Duane Storey: Rated PG - for “shoot (x7)”
Uncleweed: Rated PG - thanks to “bastard (x2) and dick (x1)”
Gus Greeper: Rated NC-17 taking the cake for multiple instances of - “sh*t (9x), “ass (5x)”, “f*cking (3x)”, “sh*tty (2x)” and “assholes (1x)”. Whoops! There goes my pristine rating!… hehe although that would spice things up a little around here…
It’s kind of amusing for about 2 minutes, but I found out that there are a lot of “clean” sites in Vancouver. Oddly enough, most of them are hockey blogs, go figure.

Hey rebecca…there’s likely a problem with the plugin…rilah.wordpress is rated G. seriously. i probably say the eff word more than corinna. don’t even get me started about how often i’ve mentioned sex…
my other site, it’s tame. there’s no swearing or anything, yet got an R rating based on two incidences of “pain” and one of….oh what was it? oh. lesbian. okay, so here’s the fun part about THAT. I’ve only been on that site for 2 weeks, tops and have never mentioned the word lesbian!
stupid free time wasting entertainment. where’s the quality?

Wow… a “G” with no “bad words”… how boring am I??
This thing doesn’t do too well with pictures though….

I plugged my D-con blog in and got an R for multiple mentions of “Dead.” It’s just playlists from my radio shows. It’s tripping up on the Grateful Dead.
I guess what I’m saying is I’m more vulgar than all of Vancouver with just the simplest skimming view of my life. Hee hee.
PS. Just scored Seasons 2 & 3 of Corner Gas from eBay. Have I thanked you enough for introducing me to that show? Those discs got me through a pretty rough week.

I prefer to be unrated.
The Johnsons say yes to being interviewed for a podcast. Lemme know details and I will pass them along

Radiozoom was G with one instance of suck while my blog is PG with one instance of suck.

Shoot? What the %($*(%# is wrong with the word shoot?

You realize that because of your latest post you are now “R”-rated, or was that the idea?
Since when is “gay” a word that should be censored?
June 27th, 2007 at 10:34 am
I know, but it should pass - I have no idea what the credentials are, maybe it just scans the first page of your blog.
I also don’t know what that website’s idea of a “bad word” is. Like in Duane’s case.. all the “shooting” is really about him talking photography

I solemnly vow to raise my rating to a more “adult” classification. Pardon my lack of profanity - this was clearly an oversight and i’ll work to improve my performance.

Want to start your private office arms race right now?
I just got my own USB rocket launcher
Awsome thing.
Plug into your computer and you got a remote controlled office missile launcher with 360 degrees horizontal and 45 degree vertival rotation with a range of more than 6 meters - which gives you a coverage of 113 square meters round your workplace.
You can get the gadget here: http://tinyurl.com/2qul3c
Check out the video they have on the page.
Cheers
