Miss604 Poll: Canucks Ticket Prices
The Vancouver Canucks posted their single-game ticket prices on their website today… I’ve taken the liberty of comparing this season’s prices to last season’s:
…Canucks fans can’t be too happy with this increase, especially one that averages in double-digit percentages. Including service charges, the cheapest tickets - yes the cheapest - will now cost more than $100 for a pair. [Canucks Hockey Blog]
At this point, family nights with the Memorial Cup Champions do seem a little more tempting but there are other options. You could wait until the puck drops at GM Place, then “independent ticket brokers” on the street will start selling for $20/seat if you don’t mind missing some action on the ice. Or you could just watch Hockey Night in Canada… oh… wait.
So Canucks fans, are high ticket prices and $8 sippy cups of Molson Canadian going to stop you from attending games? Or is it just a part of growing up as a team?

One could also make friends with a season’s ticket holder (such as myself) who can’t always get to games (like tonight) and has pairs of tickets to unload for only my costs ($110/pair *after* tax and fees - Upper Bowl 3 tickets).
Though apparently that’s still too rich for most people’s blood, because I can’t seem to get rid of them for love or money.

Don’t forget you need to add the ridiculous Ticketmaster “service” charge on top of the price! I bought 2 tickets last year for about $75 in total. This year if I were to spend the same amount I probably would only get 1 ticket.
I think I’ll go watch the boys play Ducks with company’s free ticket in Dec and watch the other 81 games in a bar with friends instead.

I’ve stopped bothering with Canucks games. There’s no reason the tickets needed to jump so high all of a sudden, such as a new CBA in place, and with the stronger Canadian dollar frankly they should be going down since most of the players are paid in American.
It’s also not like the team is that successful. I mean we’ve not had a great playoff run for over a decade, and though actually making the playoffs is nice it’s no reason to jack everything up.
