Samsung T10 and my new MPFR3DOM

Comments 23 by Rebecca Bollwitt

I’ve received a bunch of cool, free things because of blogging; from my cell phone(s) to movie passes, and this is definitely one thing I’m glad to add to the collection.

As you may have noticed from my “iPod home repair guides” that my mini is pretty much on its last legs. Leave it to the viral marketing campaigners at Matchstick to offer and send me a brand spanking new mp3 player.

Here’s what I received:

  • Samsung T10 (rumoured to be the iPod killer??)
  • Earbuds
  • Bluetooth Headphones
  • Samsung T10
Taken with my Nokia 6682 I received from Matchstick a year ago.

    Features:

  • Slim and robust 2 GB multimedia player
  • Built-in Bluetooth 2.0: compatible with Bluetooth headphones and speakers for wireless stereo playback
  • FM radio
  • Text viewer
  • USB 2.0 connectivity for charging and transferring files
  • Windows XP and Windows Vista compatible (the useless portion of our program)
  • The marketing company, Matchstick, is truly interested in feedback for their client so they’ve even created a Facebook group where everyone can post their links and reviews.

I’ve been pretty good with posting about my Nokia I got last year and we even did some video podcasts around Vancouver with it, which honestly aren’t the best quality.

My true test will be getting it to work with my MacBook because apparently it’s suited for Windows Media Player and not iTunes. I’m looking forward to using the FM tuner though and stay tuned for more updates. This product was again FREE however I am at liberty to be completely honest with my opinions in any of my posts.

Others participating (and by that I mean they got all the awesome swag too) are Keira and Raymi. If you have also received the T10, please leave comment below and feel free to link your post – thanks!

Update: Umm… my MacBook isn’t recognizing it as a drive and it comes with PC-only software… not too much success so far, can’t even put songs on it yet. Also, it’s not discoverable as a Bluetooth device.

I had someone get in touch with me to fill out a survey and I be entered for the opportunity to review the Samsung T10 like you. But I haven’t received any information about it. I’m still waiting for free things and I am always willing to review products! I review products for http://www.futurelooks.com and love getting new gadgets.

I never get any swag 🙁

    5. RaulTuesday, November 6th, 2007 — 3:22pm PST

      Neither do I, Duane 🙁 , neither do I

I want free swag! Actually I just lost my cell phone last week so a new one would come handy, no doubt 🙂

Although thanks to another fellow blogger and good friend, I now own an iPod (he bought it and gave it to me, so technically no free swag).

I am quite positively in love with this MP3 player. Me n’ Kanye have been having too much fun together.

the iPod can’t be killed. anyone who tried to kill it will only realize too late that it will only reincarnate itself in a shinier, flashier, touchier screen version of itself and proceed to stomp out the competition.

I’ve won a couple of blogging contests, but never had the opportunity to get stuff to review. Gotta work on that somehow….

Although the receipt of free swag to review would probably prompt me to stop by LCBD more often and post something, I’m a touch curious. What if the item was a complete waste (and not to say the T10 is, I’ve heard some good buzz about it)? Might that preclude your ability to obtain more in the future?

Oh I received my SamsungT10 so later today I’ll take a peek and see what it is all about!

    15. Tyler IngramMonday, December 10th, 2007 — 7:35pm PST

I noticed when I plug it into my windows machine that it comes up as an external drive (good thing) when you plug it into the Mac does it recognize it as an external drive too? That way you should be able to just drag your music files into the Music folder and listen to your tunes!

    16. Miss604Monday, December 10th, 2007 — 7:44pm PST

Nope, it doesnt show up at all… anywhere on a Mac 🙁

    17. Tyler IngramMonday, December 10th, 2007 — 8:19pm PST

That’s weird! How can you do a review if it doesnt work for you? lol I’m going to have to test it on the mac at work.

Any luck with the T10 MP3 player and the mac?

    19. Samsung T10 vs Sandisk Sansa e280 Mp3 Player at ReverbFriday, December 21st, 2007 — 3:17pm PST

[…] Once again the viral marketing company Matchstick has so kindly sent me a free Samsung T10 Mp3 player. I was sent the 2GB Black version to check out. That’s right, for you faithful readers they’re the same marketing company that sent me the Nokia 6682 that I wrote about. If you read a lot of Vancouver blogs you’ll probably notice a few others are participating in this as well. Like Rebecca over at Miss 604. […]

The T10 is a MTP (Media Transfer Protocol) only device so it’ll only work on Windows XP SP2 / Vista. Unlike my other player where you can switch it to a MSC (Mass Storage Class)…if you’re able to find an OS X MTP driver you may be able to get it to work. Not sure if one exists though.
