Friday Morning Link Fest: Snow in March Edition

March 28th, 2008 @ 10:34am (PT) by Rebecca Bollwitt
Posted in link fest, vancouver

A dozen blog posts in a week including a handful of my link fests is not too shabby considering I could simply blog about the crazy weather in Vancouver – cause people always like to talk about the weather.

March Snow

  • Lauren is the big winner of the concert tickets to see The Submarines with Bellx1 tomorrow at the Plaza Club.
  • Roberto Luongo and his lovely wife have welcomed their baby girl Gabriella into this world [The Province]. Lou will be suiting up for tonight’s game as well.
  • The Pride Parade, that attracts almost half a million spectators every August might be changing its route for this summer [News1130]. If you haven’t yet taken part in this or any of the after party events, I highly recommend it. Sunshine, music, dancing, and lots of swag is given away to the crowd.

  • I admit, this photo is mostly for Raul ;-)
  • Tonight I’m heading to the Young Women in Business “Beyond Pink” conference. I’ll just be at the tradeshow which is just a slice of the actual event but I’m looking forward to booth hopping, especially since I recently noticed a rep from Apple Canada will be there.
  • I think it’s pretty darn cool that I’ve been named one of 96 Women Bloggers to Watch in Spring 2008 by the Virtual Women’s Day Celebrations blog.
  • Nada Surf plays the Commodore Ballroom tomorrow night.
  • Finally, tomorrow is Vancouver’s Bridging Media event – bringing together traditional broadcast and production professionals with those in digital media… and much more. Miss604.com is pleased to be a Media Sponsor, providing the some live blogging goodness so check back throughout the day tomorrow for the coverage.

I like how I come back from the Dominican to find it snowing in Toronto and then fly home to Vancouver to find it snowing here! Ah well at least it isnt sticking.. I’m wanting the sun to come out so I can hit the back country for hiking!

Looks like another busy weekend for you, hopefully you’ll have time to enjoy the cherry blossom festival as well (weather permitting :)

I took a few snaps of the falling snow as well but none of them look quite this good!
