WordPress 2.5.1 Screencast Teaser for WordCamp Vancouver

By Miss604

I just upgraded my WordPress to 2.5.1 and to celebrate as well as promote WordCamp Vancouver this week, I’ve recorded a quick little screencast.

This video has been edited for time on Flickr.
A full version it can be viewed on Viddler.

I just used my MacBook’s internal mic so I know some folks will be cringing at the audio quality (and the sound of my keyboard strokes) but hey, it’s more “organic” that way…. isn’t it?.

The super cool plugin in the video that John and I have been using for the last year or so is called “Flickr Photo Album“. This is the latest version and works beautifully with WP 2.5 and up. More to come at Wedneday’s WordCamp.

Very cool. What’s the name of the Flickr plug-in that you use, along with the quick tags? One of the things that drives me nuts about Windows Live Writer is its handling of images. This might be enough to make me use the Wordpress editor again.

Hey thanks for the link and screencast! Do you mind if I embed and use your video as a demo?

Hey Joe, I don’t mind at all - that would be great. Thanks!

I guess if I’d read the post a little more closely, I’d have picked up on that plug-in name, eh? D’oh.

Rod - no, no I added that after your comment, sorry :)

Oh sure, mess with my mind ;)

OK - newbie (well, not legitimately. I’ve been blogging for 8 months but there’s still some basics I don’t know) questions:
    1. How do I tell how many/if any one is subscribing to my blog?
    2. How do I embed a podcast?
    3. How do I create ’sections’ of a blogroll (eg. a section for personal finance blogs, a section for my blogging buddies, a section for ‘green’) - or are blogrolls still of interest these days?

hmmm. I have more, but can’t think right now. I’ll post another comment as they come to me!
