DreamBank’s Sweet Launch
Local company DreamBank has solved those issues by creating a form of “wish list” online that you can create, publicize, and ask people to contribute to.
… we provide a fun, easy way for you to fund your dreams. By posting a dream on www.dreambank.org, friends, family and fans can contribute to your dream fund. Each contribution brings your dream closer to reality.
However DreamBank doesn’t stop there, everyone’s “dreams” no matter how big, small, personal, or trivial, also help out a DreamBank authorized charity.
… Every time a contributor supports a dream, life gets a little better for someone else on the planet. That’s because DreamBank contributions are pooled into one big fund and the interest it generates is distributed to international charities and non profit organizations. Dreamers are given a choice of organizations to associate with their dream.
They had a soft launch party last night where I met up with Julie and Darren from Capulet, Phillip, Boris, Monica, a few more familiar faces and many new ones.
Also, yesterday kicked off their blogger outreach program that will help spread the word about DreamBank’s service - they can connect with a Dreamer, become a Dreamer or contribute to a Dream.
They had a really cute marketing campaign that involved something to do with fairy godmothers. Hey, I’ll never pass up the opportunity to wear a plastic tiara with purple fuzz on it.
I started my Dream this week and it’s pretty simple; I would like to attend BlogWorld in Vegas this September. It’s the biggest blogging conference in the world and (this is a secret side note) it’s also right before John’s 30th birthday. My dream is to raise enough to get me to the conference then maybe I could also get John down there as well for a fun little Bollwitt weekend (cause we simply don’t have enough of those).

The partnership charity that I have chosen is Save The Children, so contributions to my Dream and others will bank up funds for this worthy cause.

Thanks for coming by last night, and thanks for the great write-up. My actual dream is for the Canucks to win the Stanley Cup, but no amount of money is going to help that.

DreamBank sounds like it’s on the up-and-up, though; actual contributions go directly to dreamer and the interest earned on the contributions go towards overhead/charities (if I understand things correctly).

It was great to finally meet you, and thanks as well for the writeup. You’ve touched on a lot of the key ideas that make DreamBank special, and we’re rooting for you to get to BlogWorld.
