WTS - What the Surrey #30: Defending Surrey on CBC

I was contacted earlier this week by the CBC, wanting to do a story about my blog but looking for some unique angles. Turns out the most prominent discussion on my blog at the moment is about the Dana Carvey Surrey Girl Joke so they wanted to talk about that, and I was more than willing.

Strong work. If you pause the video with, like, two seconds left, the guy next to Gloria looks to be quietly reminiscing about all the Surrey girl action he’s gotten over the years.

I’m a 32 year old female & I grew up in the Guildford area. Moved to the ‘Peg when I was 15 and even THEY had heard of Surrey girl jokes. Not a good way for a goodlooking girl to get her start in a new school that’s for sure. Screw the stupid comments about Surrey.
