Isn't it ridiculous how much time money and effort they are putting into that dead tree? I understand that it is an icon in Stanley park but for heaven's sake, take a nice picture, make a plaque, lay the tree down to rest and let it nurse some new growth, already. All that money and time could have been put to much better use, like, say, to plant some trees that will live

[...] That’s not to say that Vancouver and area don’t get their share of wind off the Strait of Georgia; look what happened in late 2006 and early 2007 in Stanley Park - they’re still cleaning it up. [...]

It's nice to see that you can access the bunker. The parking lot doesn't look any bigger than it used to be but they seem to be adding some more tourist type features as well as updating some of the look out points.

I took a photo of the redevelopment plan: http://flickr.com/photos/tyleringram/2919241963/

Might be of some use if people are curious what Prospect Point has in store for it.

Nice photo's of Stanley Park.

Me and my girlfriend last visited in March 2005, before any of the storm damage. We completely missed the Siwash Bunker which is a shame as we missed out on some good photo opportunities!
