A commissioned mural along the retaining wall on Beatty street, across from the armoury, was painted over with an ugly shade of blue paint. Just awful.

It’s just interesting that at a time when the Olympics are upon us, the Province practically eliminates arts funding at the same time as the federal government is pouring loads of cash into artists willing to sign a contract that limits their freedom of expression. It’s very reminiscent of pre-WWII Germany’s propaganda blitz. All remaining advertising space bought up by VANOC which spends taxpayer dollars to bailout its sponsors.

Yeah, everything looks shiny, but we’re being soooooo fleeced.
