That is The Carnival Band. It’s a community band that takes all comers no matter skill level, age, etc… They are an East Van band that practices every Monday night at Brittania Centre. They do so much for the Vancouver community.

I guess I just missed you there tonight, Rebecca. I attended the City Salon held immediately following, with Robin Enright and Trevor Bodie moderating questions for a panel including Woodward’s architect Gregory Henriquez, artist Stan Douglas, former city councillor Jim Green, developer Ian Gillespie, the Portland Hotel Society’s Liz Evans and folks from SFU as well as BladeRunners and even a member of the Woodward family. Lots of emotion, lots of pride, and lots of gratitude up on the stage. I’m so glad I was there to be a part of it.

Hello. I like your site – lots of good information.

I am enjoying the Olympic-inspired signage going up around the city like the RBC building, CTV and especially the Georgia flag. But have you seen the 14 story billboard they are putting up on the TD buliding at Howe and Georgia?
a cellphone.
