Magique Fall Fashion Affair, Win Tickets

Although the Lower Mainland’s evergreens do not transform into multicoloured groves like they do back East, autumn in this region is still pretty beautiful. It’s a time to dust off the rain boots and pull all your soft sweaters from summer storage as you head out for a walk around Stanley Park with a piping hot beverage, leaves crunching beneath your feet. Speaking of boots and sweaters, it’s also a new season of fashion in stores and on the streets.

Autumn in the Park

On October 2nd Magique Fashions (a local boutique and wardrobe consultant service) will be hosting a fashion show benefiting the Peace Arch Hospital Foundation. Hosted by Urban Rush’s Fiona Forbes, the fashion show and reception will take place at Coyote Creek Golf Course in Surrey. Items from Sarah Pacini, Michael Kors, Elisa Cavaletti will be hitting the runway along with the hottest names in premier denim.

On top of the fashion show itself, there will be entertainment provided by young singing sensation Cole Armour along with tasty canapes and a custom cocktail for participants to sip.

Tickets are available online for $80 and admission also includes a signature charm designed by local jewelry designer Karyn Chopik, exclusively for this event. In addition, ticket holders will receive 15% of their next purchase at Magique Fashions, located at 124-1959 152 Street, Surrey.

    I was actually thinking this past weekend about how summer may be ending, which always hurts, but the thing I love most about this change is that I get to wear my boots, with my cute jeans, and that comfy turtleneck sweater that I got from a local designer that I haven’t worn since April!     Having purchased Peace Arch Hospital Lottery tickets for years to support the fundraising campaign, it’d be great to attend a public event this fll in support of the amazing work the hospital does. Attending this fall fashion show is a magical colorful event and I think the timing is perfect: before clocks go back and it’s even darker and colder outside.

    I have a guilty confession to make. I yearn for Fall all year round. When everyone else is working on bronzing themselves in the sun or doing copious amounts of squats to ensure that they look tight in a bikini, I’m dreaming of knee-high boots and jeans and lush coats and layers and scarves! (oh and perhaps the outrageous costumes that surrounds Halloween) The fashion simply makes me drool. An opportunity to attend a real live fashion show would make my season, let alone my year!
