Social Media Day 2011 takes place June 30th in over 1380 communities around the world. Each of these communities has planned a meetup where people will get together to celebrate social networking, its technology and the connections it has made.

You can meet your Vancouver online community offline at one of the following events:

Burnaby (SFU Cornerstone, Meetup Link), Langley (Agave Grill, Meetup Link), North Vancouver (TBD, Meetup Link), Surrey (TBD, Meetup Link), Vancouver (Ceilis Irish Pub, Meetup Link).

Social media isn’t just for making connections online, a large part of it (and often its main goal) is to bring people (friends, clients, partners, customers) together in an offline environment. The tag for Social Media Day on Twitter is #smday so you can share photos and updates from your local meetup.
