I love the noise the transit farecard validator makes. I think it goes something like “zerp zerp zeeeerrrrpp”

    2. Alex PopeThursday, July 7th, 2011 — 1:17pm PDT

I Love Transit because I can take my bike on the West Coast Express when the weather is bad.

    5. Tyler IngramThursday, July 7th, 2011 — 1:38pm PDT

I love the new CanadaLine tunnels. It would be cool to get a chance to walk through them (during non-operating hours) with my camera and a tripod!

I also like how convenient it is actually to take transit from Whiterock to Vancouver. It’s a pretty passive commute! Now if I could get a quicker service from Whiterock to BCIT!

    6. SThursday, July 7th, 2011 — 1:41pm PDT

That transit system in Vancouver is horrible. I think the people that design the transit system should take it once in a while to see just how well it sucks.

    7. Robert W. WhiteThursday, July 7th, 2011 — 1:44pm PDT

I never grow tired of the view from the Skytrain in Burnaby, around Royal Oak. Every single day, there’s something beautiful to look at, whether it’s low clouds hanging around the mountains, lush greenery encroaching on the tracks, or a hot summer sun over Delta/Richmond. So beautiful!

    8. JaegenThursday, July 7th, 2011 — 2:13pm PDT

I love not having to drive!

    9. SanazThursday, July 7th, 2011 — 2:13pm PDT

I love transit because of its efficiency and how it can make your movement around the city much more comfortable and less stressful.

    10. Ricki PrestleyThursday, July 7th, 2011 — 2:27pm PDT

I love stealing half an hour for myself at the beginning and end of each day while someone else takes me where I am going.

    11. CliffThursday, July 7th, 2011 — 2:34pm PDT

I love transit for being able to travel free on Sundays and Holidays on someone else’s pass.

    12. BrendaThursday, July 7th, 2011 — 2:36pm PDT

I love transit for the convenience of commuting to/from downtown within Vancouver. The Canada line to Richmond and the airport is great as well!

    13. ShannonThursday, July 7th, 2011 — 3:38pm PDT

      I ride tansit

    14. LisaThursday, July 7th, 2011 — 3:52pm PDT

I love transit because I can sleep and or just be stress free. I also love that I don’t need a car (recently sold mine just because I never used it) because transit can get me wherever I need to go!

    15. BethThursday, July 7th, 2011 — 4:01pm PDT

I love how clean and efficient the transit is in Vancouver.

    16. LouThursday, July 7th, 2011 — 4:08pm PDT

I love the number 22 bus. It is the wacky random route that ties the entire transit system together. Bus from Knight and Southwest Marine to Kits? No transfer? Yes.

    17. SherryThursday, July 7th, 2011 — 4:55pm PDT

I love taking the skytrain downtown to a play….cause then I don’t have to find parking and can have a drink or two……

    18. EddieThursday, July 7th, 2011 — 5:09pm PDT

I Love Transit because it helps me get to where I want.

    22. Kevin | 604 FoodtographyThursday, July 7th, 2011 — 6:29pm PDT

I love transit because it offers more personal interaction with humanity than driving. The opportunity to people watch and observe all walks of life before heading to my final destination reminds me to be happy I’m alive and living in one of the best cities of the world, Vancouver!

    23. KarenThursday, July 7th, 2011 — 6:45pm PDT

I love overhearing conversations on transit or just seeing people in the course of their daily lives. It’s what I miss the most on the rare occasions I have to drive.

    24. CharlotteThursday, July 7th, 2011 — 6:59pm PDT

I love the people watching on the 44 to UBC in the morning

    25. VincentThursday, July 7th, 2011 — 8:06pm PDT

i love the transit in that it takes me to places that i love XD it makes hanging out with friends that much easier! and i love friendly bus drives. i also love observing the different people on the bus (not stalking them though).

    26. Malcolm HebertThursday, July 7th, 2011 — 8:22pm PDT

i love taking the skytain afterhours,, especially the night owl service getting entertained by the drunks. I have conquered Symphony of Fire nights on the transit on my way back home shoved against a steel pole and sardine like a fish in a can. Never have I ever complained. Thats transit for ya! either ya take it or you don’t.

I do enjoy the new skytrain line to the airport, boy oh boy do i ever save now then having to take the $35 taxi or the obscured daily parking fees.

    27. Lori-Vancouver BCThursday, July 7th, 2011 — 8:38pm PDT

I love all the room on the Canada Line.

    28. DarcyThursday, July 7th, 2011 — 8:42pm PDT

I love the friendly bus drivers…especially the one today on my way home…I thought I was on a tour bus, he was so friendly, he greeted everyone as they got on the bus, he told us the temperature, what famous person was celebrating a birthday today…he was great and put a smile on a lot of people’s faces today.

    29. Dave K.Thursday, July 7th, 2011 — 9:15pm PDT

    33. JeffThursday, July 7th, 2011 — 10:54pm PDT

I love transit (or specifically SkyTrain) because it’s consistent, fast, gives you time to read, and best of all, always is filled with interesting people to watch.

    34. Ian YeungThursday, July 7th, 2011 — 11:16pm PDT

There are vast reasons as to why taking the transit trumps driving my own car. First and foremost, keeping a car is just ridiculous these days. Gas prices will only go up, and never seem to come back down. Insurance is through the roof. On top of all this, if you are to ever venture to any crowded place, parking can be a wallet snatcher! Of course, driving your own car does have its own convenience, but does it really justify the hundreds of dollars I spend monthly on it? In my opinion, it is a clear no. The length of time on public transit does usually take longer. However the time spent sitting can be used in so many different ways. You can read. You can write. You can eat. You can study. You can socialize and make new friends. You can sleep. You can admire the beauty of the surroundings. You can do so many things on public transit. Can you say the same when you are driving? All these benefits for at least a quarter of the price, it is hard to not love transit.

    35. BrendaThursday, July 7th, 2011 — 11:20pm PDT

I love transit for its occasional sassy bus drivers who really brighten my day by smiling a hello or cracking a joke on the intercom!

    36. Katherine TongThursday, July 7th, 2011 — 11:39pm PDT

I love Canada Line – to get to the airport from West Vancouver, it takes over 1 1/2 hour round trip. Now I only need to be dropped at the downtown waterfront station or take the sea bus from Lonsdale Quay and I can get to the airport in 28 minute without concern of traffic condition. My driver loves it as he also saves time and gas!
A win-win situation. It would nice if we have more usage so the fare gets cheaper.

    37. Jenny NThursday, July 7th, 2011 — 11:45pm PDT

I love to look out the window when taking both the skytrain or the bus.

    38. GenFriday, July 8th, 2011 — 12:03am PDT

I love transit for the fact that it allows you to discover all sorts of beautiful sites and to explore the city like a tourist without needing to pack any bags. Traveling with young children and getting wrapped up in their excitement of riding the sea bus or Canada line turns the trip into a wonderful adventure!

    39. KathyFriday, July 8th, 2011 — 1:38am PDT

Besides taking in the gorgeous view of Science World on a sunny day, riding on the skytrain lets me travel from one end of the city to the other in a relatively short period of time. I love being able to shop downtown for half the day, then hopping the skytrain to shop in Metrotown for the other half.

    40. AmyFriday, July 8th, 2011 — 6:57am PDT

I love transit! It gets me from A to B so fast! I hope I win!

    41. JanetFriday, July 8th, 2011 — 8:08am PDT

I love the Seabus – mini-sea-cruise tranquility in every commute.

    42. HollyFriday, July 8th, 2011 — 8:38am PDT

I love transit beacause I can get my nap on.

    43. SusanFriday, July 8th, 2011 — 9:19am PDT

I love it all!!! We do not drive by choice so depend on transit for all our needs. I love the drivers, I love my bus buddies and I love how all my daughters friends contact her for directions if they need to take transit. Go Transit Go!!!

    44. Jessica R.FFriday, July 8th, 2011 — 9:21am PDT

I love transit because it gives me time to observe the neighbourhoods through which I am travelling and see and learn things that I wouldn’t be able to in a car. I get to follow the building of new homes, the changing of the seasons, the blooming of flowers, the construction of roads and gardens and community centres, and the changing face of Vancouver.

    45. Jennifer M.Friday, July 8th, 2011 — 9:43am PDT

I love transit because when I get on the skytrain, I pull out a good book and enjoy the time reading. The next thing I know, I’m arriving at my destination!

    46. nabil azabFriday, July 8th, 2011 — 10:31am PDT

    47. MariellaFriday, July 8th, 2011 — 10:47am PDT

    48. BelindaFriday, July 8th, 2011 — 11:27am PDT

I love transit because there are interesting bus drivers that bring smiles to the commuters on a daily basis. Last summer, a bus driver was asking trivia questions and handing out chocolate as prizes. During the raining season when people’s mooods were affected by the weather, bus drivers tell jokes that are actually funny and laughter filled the bus.

    49. LeanneFriday, July 8th, 2011 — 12:18pm PDT

I love transit because I can snooze while travelling to/from work – no worries about what the other drivers are doing!

    50. AnneFriday, July 8th, 2011 — 12:32pm PDT

I love transit because my friend can take me on the bus for free on Sundays. Also because I get to the North Shore and West Van so fast!

    54. Tooth FairyFriday, July 8th, 2011 — 6:08pm PDT

Love transit so don’t have to drive during those rushing hours!!

    55. sueFriday, July 8th, 2011 — 6:22pm PDT

I take the train 5 days a week from King George to Chinatown & Waterfront to Surrey Central ,I always sit & enjoy that time to read , listen to my fave tunes & take in the beautiful view. It’s usually the only time of the day that’s all mine and I just go with the flow whatever that may be. Gotta love transit 😉

    56. Deb WildeFriday, July 8th, 2011 — 7:17pm PDT

I love transit because it quickly whisks my two grown children out of the house, giving me some peace and quiet.

I also REALLY love transit because it will provide a mode of transportation for my two adult children to find new jobs, making them productive members of society once again.

-Signed the mother of two adult children who still live @ home.

    57. KellyFriday, July 8th, 2011 — 7:52pm PDT

I love translink because it takes me to places I need to go, like Richmond, BUrnaby, and surrey. All in one train.

    58. auFriday, July 8th, 2011 — 9:07pm PDT

why i love transit? a simple answer but considered remarkable – SAVINGS is the word!

    59. CharleneSaturday, July 9th, 2011 — 1:11am PDT

I love not having to drive. I love being able to read, nap, or do a crossword and not have to worry about my commute. I love the discoveries of new places while on the bus, places to shop, eat, etc. I love the spirit of everyone on the train/bus when the Canucks are playing, when we’re all headed to the fireworks at the beach, and when the holidays are nearing. Translink, where would I be without you?!

    60. RebeccaSaturday, July 9th, 2011 — 2:00am PDT

I agree that transit saves you money and can sometimes get you where you need to go faster than a car.

    61. KevinSaturday, July 9th, 2011 — 10:59am PDT

I save a ton of money and I’m eco-friendly, what is there not to like about transit!

    65. parkerSunday, July 10th, 2011 — 11:19am PDT

I love seeing the one bus driver who whirls the group down Lonsdale to the Quay in time to catch the 515pm ferry. He always cautions us to hold on because turbulence is coming. And during the Stanley Cup Finals, each stop was announced as a player. Of course, W 1st was the crowd favourite as we all screamed “Luuuuuuuuuuuu”

    66. VenusSunday, July 10th, 2011 — 7:33pm PDT

I love transit because there are so many places to explore in the lower mainland and Transit helps you get to a good many of them. Trips can be planned by checking the website before leaving home, the next bus can be checked at the bus stop by txting the stop number/bus you are waiting for to Translink and there’ll always be another Skytrain (on all three lines) in just a few minutes if you miss one.
Friendly bus drivers…the chance to see the city without having to worry about traffic/parking and the connection between soo many places in the lower mainland..what’s not to love?

    67. AshleyMonday, July 11th, 2011 — 1:10am PDT

I love the fact that if I take the skytrain/bus I can just sit, relax and catch up on some reading. Driving my car around is mostly just annoying and I end up sitting in traffic forever.

    68. JenMonday, July 11th, 2011 — 9:19am PDT

I love transit because when you get to where you want to go, you can simply walk away and start enjoying yourself, instead of having to stress over finding a parking space!!

    69. CandaceMonday, July 11th, 2011 — 10:12am PDT

I love the good mornings and smiles from all the bus drivers on my normal transit route to work, it makes me feel like I’m a regular.

    70. SarahMonday, July 11th, 2011 — 10:44am PDT

i love the canada line because i can relax on my way to work and not worry about traffic or getting there on time! 🙂

    72. LydiaMonday, July 11th, 2011 — 12:25pm PDT

I love the variety of people I see on the bus every day – the seniors, children, young adults, parents and any other demographic category. I love how the busses or skytrains are some of the only places you can get such a diverse group together.

    84. JaneTuesday, July 12th, 2011 — 11:37am PDT

I love it. It’s easy to use, no need of driving, no need of finding parking lot, no parking fees, no fuel cost, no insurance cost, no cleaning cost or effort, no worry about hitting someone’s vehicle, green but definitely faster than bike. I can meet people, play, sleep, chat, study while on board.

    85. KristynTuesday, July 12th, 2011 — 12:48pm PDT

      “Why I love Transit”
I can read my book. Or listen to my ipod. Or people watch. Or sleep. Or all of the above. It gets me where I need to go. The poetry in tansit ads that feature local poets. The ding ding ding of the skytrain that I can hear from my bedroom when my window is open. The cool architecture on the millenium line stations. The helpful transit staff. The convenience. I <3 Transit!

    86. DeidreTuesday, July 12th, 2011 — 1:40pm PDT

I don’t drive – I would be lost with ut it!

    87. VinceTuesday, July 12th, 2011 — 1:43pm PDT

    92. Jeremy CockrillTuesday, July 12th, 2011 — 8:29pm PDT

Two things I love about transit:

      1. Sitting there and watching different people get on and off the train. Interesting to imagine where they are headed.

      2. Giving your seat up for an older person.

    93. GeraldTuesday, July 12th, 2011 — 9:49pm PDT

Taking Transit is so entertaining – the people watching is an endless parade of the cross-section of humanity! I must admit taking the Canada Line to the Airport is way cool. I’ve even taken transit all the way from downtown Vancouver to the Tsawwassen ferry terminal. Love it!

    94. BobTuesday, July 12th, 2011 — 10:21pm PDT

I love transit because I don’t have a car. I walk to work. Even in the rain. Snow is another matter in North Van.

    95. seapotatoWednesday, July 13th, 2011 — 12:26am PDT

    98. Ruby ThaparWednesday, July 13th, 2011 — 9:17am PDT

I love transit because it gets you from point A-B quicker than a car.

    99. MichelleWednesday, July 13th, 2011 — 9:50am PDT

I love when the bus driver sees you running as fast as you can and hesitates at the stop just that little bit longer so you don’t miss the bus!

    100. Lauren B.Wednesday, July 13th, 2011 — 10:51am PDT

I love transit because of the bus drivers. The ones who wait when they see you booking it down the street, the ones who say good morning to you on your commute, the ones who let you on even when you’re a quarter short, the ones who don’t declare a full bus until there really is absolutely no room left. I also love the Canada Line for just being so nice.

    101. KaiWednesday, July 13th, 2011 — 1:19pm PDT

Love transit since it means I can relax and get to where I need to go, esp if having a bevy or two & leave a smaller carbon footprint . Also not having to worry about parking is nice.

    102. EvelynWednesday, July 13th, 2011 — 4:01pm PDT

I love transit because the commute time it takes for me to get to work is shorter than if I drove. It is much more efficient and relaxing and I’m doing my part for the environment

I love transit because I just have to pay for my pass once a month, and then I’m set to travel. When I owned a car, I had the headache of paying for insurance, gas, repairs, oil changes, parking, and it seemed to never end.

I love Transit because of all the helpful staff when I call to get directions they are always helpful and how the buses say where you are so you know where to get off and even if you get confused the bus drivers are always so helpful. The bus driver and sky train staff are super nice my son always has a million this to say the bus drivers let him get a ticket even though he doesn’t need on yet and the sky train security always answer his question one of the skytrain security even gave my son a sky train pin and totally made his day 🙂

I love people watching from up above while riding on the skytrain. I also enjoy the thrills of pretending I’m on an amusement park ride when the skytrain starts picking up speed.
