Easter arrives in early April this year as it brings spring showers, blooming flowers, and the ability to finally wear all that white you put away at Labour Day. There are several family-friendly Easter events happening around the Lower Mainland including egg hunts, swims, and afternoon tea.

Where: CG Brown Memorial Pool, 3702 Kensington
When: Sunday, April 8, 2012 from 12:00pm to 1:30pm
Who: For ages 7 and younger, bring your bathing suit
Cost: Loonie swim rate

Surrey
What: Eco Easter Egg Hunt
Where: Surrey Nature Centre at Green Timbers (off 96 Ave)
When: Saturday, April 7, 2012 from 10:00am to 3:00pm
Who: 0-3 (10:30am), 4-6 (11:30am), 7-8 (12:30pm), 9-12 (1:30pm)
Cost: $5 per child

Richmond
What: Easter Party
When: Saturday, April 7, 2012 from 10:00am to 11:30am or 12:30pm to 2:00pm
Where: Steveston Community Centre (4111 Moncton St)
Cost: $9 per child. Preschool to 5 years, and 6 years to 12.

What: London Heritage Farm Easter Tea (all ages)
When: Saturday, April 7, 2012 from 12:00pm to 5:00pm
Where: London Heritage Farm (6511 Dyke Rd)
Cost: Free to explore the gardens, $8.50 for Easter tea inside

Where: John Braithwaite Community Centre
Cost: $1 drop-in, for parents and tots ages 0-5 years.

    Easter Egg Hunts in Langley!

    Easter Skate at the LEC
    April 7
    Don’t miss the First Annual Easter Skate happening on Saturday, April 7 at the Langley Events Centre! There will be public skating happening for all ages from 9AM – 12PM while the kids (and adults too) can get pictures with the Easter Bunny in the Langley Events Centre Banquet Hall. There will be Easter Egg hunts happening on and off the ice: 0 Years – 5 Years: 9:45AM – 10:15AM 6 Years – 9 Years: 10:30AM – 11:00AM 10 Years – 12 Years: 11:30AM – 12:00PM Other activities Include: Crafts, bouncy castles, and much more fun for everyone! The price of admission is $5.00 per person or $15.00 per family of four (minimum one adult). Price includes admission, skate and helmet rental (limited availability). Tickets can be purchased at GATE 1 on the day of the event.

    2nd Annual Easter Egg Hunt at Fort Langley National Historic Site
    April 8
    Bring an Easter basket for the new and improved Easter Egg Hunt at 1:00 pm sharp – be sure to arrive early – the hunt lasts until all the eggs are found. From 10 am – 5 pm, enjoy a relaxed Easter Scavenger Hunt where every child will receive a treat, and fun Easter crafts and games. Regular admission applies; free for annual pass holders.

    Sunday April 8 Bring the kids and enjoy Easter at the Zoo! We are starting the day off with a Children Easter Educational Scavenger Hunt that you can join in at anytime and at 1:30 pm is our Children Easter Egg Hunt (both are free of charge with admission). The Scavenger Hunt and Easter Egg Hunt you will have an opportunity to win a Family Day Pass to the Zoo. We are also providing easter enrichment treats for some of the animals. The lions and monkeys will receive a special easter enrichment item along with some of the other animals. Special appearance from the Easter Bunny is between 12 – 2 pm!
