Spring showers are tapering off and some sweet summer sunshine is about to help our gardens grow in Metro Vancouver. To assist green thumbs across Canada, Real Canadian Superstore Garden Centres are offering plants and colourful blooms sourced from Canadian growers, including DeVry Greenhouses in Chilliwack and Bylands Nurseries in Kelowna.

Other products include flowering baskets, edible plants, ornamental grasses, designer planters and more, which are all available in local nofrills, Extra Foods, and Real Canadian Superstore locations in the Lower Mainland.

Real Canadian Superstore Garden Centres locations also host Canada’s first and only national recycling program for gardeners. Receive a $5 coupon per 25 pots returned (valid until July 4, 2013, coupons can be found at cash registers of participating Garden Centres).

I dont have a garden yet… just an orchid letting my room prettier. But back when I used to have a yard, I loved having mint in the garden! Put some pineapple and mint on the blender and try it, it’s so refreshing! Better than those things they sell in boxes and call juice!

Thanks for the chance to win; if I do, I could rescue my garden from my dog!

My favorite plant this year on my West End balcony is a small lavender tree…it was my big purchase for the season, but I got it for an incredible deal at one of the Kits grocery/plant stores. It was steal at $9.95! They are selling around town for $29.95. Am trying to grow a combo of flowers and edibles.

Adventurous when it comes to gardening. Last year we had a little patch where we grew corn – big enough for one person to enter – just like in “Field Of Dreams”. This year we decided to primarily have watermelons – good to eat and fun to carve ..
