Motrin Mom Video Mishap

November 18th, 2008 by Miss604   10 Comments

A few days ago the makers of pain-reliever Motrin (Johnson & Johnson) launched a commercial campaign that annoyed and outraged mothers around the world.

“That couldn’t have been written by a mother,” noted my sister, Jennifer. “The speak about how carrying your baby around is in fashion, but it’s certainly not a passing fad nor [...]

While watching the “halibut battle” on Iron Chef tonight I was reminded of an email I received inviting me to the 1st Annual BC Sustainable Seafood Chowder Competition taking place tomorrow at the Vancouver Aquarium.
Come, watch and taste the creations of five of BC’s finest chefs during the first Annual BC Sustainable Seafood Chowder cook-off. [...]

October 18th, 2008 by Miss604   2 Comments

I completely forgot about a special event this morning that my niece and nephews probably would have loved to attend, luckily - it was just a preview of what the Vancouver Aquarium has in store for this Halloween season so there will be many more chances to check it out.

August 8th, 2008 by Miss604   3 Comments

Last year I attended the West End Block Party with Keira (and her hot dog t-shirt). We had a really great time playing some games, touring the transit museum on wheels, and hanging out in our ‘hood on a sunny afternoon.

“Gordon Neighbourhood House is holding its 10th annual West End Summer Block Party [...]

August 5th, 2008 by Miss604   9 Comments

Outdoor movies have taken Metro Vancouver by storm this summer, with sunny days outnumbering the wet ones, it’s a picturesque way to spend a warm evening. So far folks have already seen Mr. Magorium’s Wonder Emporium at Killarney Community Centre and E.T. at David Lam Park in Yaletown as well as at Hastings Racecourse.

A Morning at the Vancouver Aquarium

July 9th, 2008 by Miss604   8 Comments

I spent a fun-filled morning with my family as guests of the Vancouver Aquarium where the kids enjoyed interactive displays and learning about marine life around the world.

When I was little we spent school field trips perched on the edges of our bleacher seats watching the majestic orcas perform stunts for handycam-toting crowds. Nowadays the [...]

Where Would We Be

May 12th, 2008 by Miss604   9 Comments

Since my mother’s birthday and Mother’s Day are so close together in the month of May, I figured a consolidated post wouldn’t make me look too cheap, would it?
Reasons for not writing on the subject yesterday include the fact that my mom was out of the country and wouldn’t have been able to read this [...]
