Yesterday I asked the followers of my Facebook page what the theme of the next Archives Photos of the Day post should be. I had some great suggestions and decided to go with Robert White’s idea of street fashions. While the images were not categorized under a “fashion” tag, I did a little digging and pulled out some street scenes that do the trick.

Vancouver consistently ranks within the top cities in the world when it comes to walkability and physical activity. One thing I enjoy about Vancouver is that aside from franchises, chains and box stores, we have a wide range of independently-operated and locally-owned shops. One of such establishments is Wish.List Boutique on Broadway at MacDonald. The Flip Flop Shop on West 4th saved us last November before our trip to the Caribbean as they were the only place in town where we could find some flip flops. This year, they’ve expanding their product offering to include other seasonal footwear such as boots and closed-toe sandals.

Joe Fresh is a brand typically associated with Superstore that produces clothing for men and women. They’ll be hopping outside of the giant green box and launching a flagship store in downtown Vancouver this month, bringing more fashion options to the entertainment district.

Although the Lower Mainland’s evergreens do not transform into multicoloured groves like they do back East, autumn in this region is still pretty beautiful. Friday May 28th is Loud Shirt Day in Vancouver benefiting The Children’s Hearing and Speech Centre in BC.
