90210, New and Improved?

September 2nd, 2008 by Miss604   8 Comments

I don’t usually watch much prime time television (and I’m still saving myself for the new season of Rescue Me) however growing up in the 90s I was obviously curious about the new 90210 so I have compiled some notes below.

July 13th, 2008 by Miss604   4 Comments

The following is a guest post written by the President of the Vancouver Sherlock Holmes society, The Stormy Petrels.
It has come to my attention that there are two new Sherlock Holmes movies in the works. This is always good news to Sherlockians - fans of the great detective.
Downey, who earned raves for the action blockbuster [...]

My Appearance on The Lab with Leo

July 8th, 2008 by Miss604   10 Comments

My episode of The Lab with Leo was one of the last ones produced before the show ceased to be but I was very lucky and proud to be a small part of it all.
I admit, I was probably the most nervous I have been in a really long time when we recorded this [...]

July 4th, 2008 by Miss604   9 Comments

I was contacted earlier this week by the CBC, wanting to do a story about my blog but looking for some unique angles. Turns out the most prominent discussion on my blog at the moment is about the Dana Carvey Surrey Girl Joke so they wanted to talk about that, and I was more than [...]

Dana Carvey Surrey Girl Joke on Leno

June 27th, 2008 by Miss604   30 Comments

Surrey’s made its way onto popular American late night television before, I hear there was even a reference to Surrey Girls on one of David Letterman’s “Top Ten” lists although I can’t seem to find it in the archives. My sister informed me today that a few days ago Dana Carvey gave us (and hundreds [...]

Give Yourself a Pedicure with PedEgg

May 2nd, 2008 by Miss604   7 Comments

I think I’ve had maybe 3 pedicures in my life, most recently at Element in Yaletown with Keira just before her birthday back in December. It was lovely and I particularly loved sitting in massage chairs, getting the royal treatment from the knee down and spending some down time with a friend.

There are pivotal characters that have put Vancouver on the map in many different realms, from First Nations literary works, legendary hockey skills, to helping children learn to swim in English Bay. Vancouver’s history is made by its people, from many generations.

April 19th, 2008 by Miss604   3 Comments

This post was written for happyfrog at the EPIC Sustainable Living Expo
At this time yesterday Mike Holmes was in Toronto redoing a roof and getting a sunburn.
Although we can’t control our flip flopping weather in Vancouver, this city was sure grateful for Mike’s appearance. I had the chance to take some notes during his [...]

No More Lab With Leo

March 8th, 2008 by Miss604   5 Comments

Although my involvement with The Lab was brief and only just a few days ago, I can still appreciate what they’ve done over the years.

I had the pleasure of meeting Amber Mac a few months ago when we were both members of Team Blogger on CBC’s Test the Nation (which makes some of my [...]

Test the Nation Trip: Nerds on Top

January 20th, 2008 by Miss604   32 Comments

SWEEP! SWEEP! SWEEP! That was the chant when it was announced that our celebrity, Samantha Bee and teammate Rick Spence were both crowned top scorers at the end of the night. We were still awaiting the final team results but the bloggers were feeling pretty good at that point.

Throughout the evening our team [...]

Test the Nation Trip: No Spoilers Here

January 20th, 2008 by Miss604   8 Comments

Just got back from the CBC and am thawing out in my hotel. Several of the Vancouver bloggers had to leave right from the set once the show was over since they fly out tonight. I’m lucky to have a morning flight, a morning flight that isn’t too early no less.
I have photos to [...]
