2009

Some of my involvement with causes so far in 2009 has included:

- Organizing Twestival Local Vancouver 2009 benefiting the BC Childrens Hospital Foundation

- Organizing Blogathon Vancouver 2009 benefiting the Union Gospel Mission (my own campaign) and over 20 others (campaigns of other bloggers)

- Being a part of the campaign to raise awareness for the Union Gospel Mission’s Orange Day event.

- Holding a contest to support the Red Cross Red Carpet Soiree.

- Being active with Earth Hour events and holding a contest.

- Organizing Twestival Vancouver, a part of a global campaign put together over Twitter, to support charity:water.

2008

- The Best of 604 awards raised over $1,800 for the Greater Vancouver Food Bank Society.

- DuaneStorey.com and Miss604.com readers raised close to $10,000 for the Union Gospel Mission during Blogathon Vancouver 2008. Our campaign received a big boost towards the end of our 24 hour effort thanks to Matthew Good.

- The Union Gospel Mission launches a new website including a raw and emotional blog from the Downtown Eastside.

2007

I reached 117% of my goal for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation Run for the Cure thanks to my readers!

Miss604.com readers pledged over $400 for the Surrey Food Bank during Blogathon 2007 which included1 blog post every 30 minutes, over 24 hours = 1 cause. View all of my Blogathon Posts.

Miss604.com also promoted the Surrey Memorial Hospital Foundation’s “Tulips for Tomorrow” campaign. Funds raised go toward the development and expansion of their already overflowing emergency room services.
