Victoria’s Secret Opens in Vancouver

The following post has been contributed exclusively by Keira-Anne Mellis who attended the Victoria’s Secret media event in Vancouver for Miss604.

Victoria’s Secret Opens in Vancouver

Sexy, sophisticated and glamourous are all synonymous with one of the world’s most iconic brands. Victoria’s Secret has now officially expanded into British Columbia with the August 27th opening of its Canadian flagship store in downtown Vancouver. Lindsay Ellingson, one of the Victoria’s Secret Angels, was in Vancouver for the ribbon-cutting ceremony and to welcome shoppers.

Since Tuesday, women (and some reluctant men) have been flocking to the corner of Robson and Burrard Streets, most seen leaving clutching the brand’s coveted pink-striped shopping bags. At more than 35,000 square feet of vibrant space over two floors, the Vancouver location is the second-largest in the world after the New York City flagship store. Dressed up in dramatic accents with custom chandeliers and larger-than-life imagery, this Victoria’s Secret location lives up to the stunning vision fans of the brand expect.

What makes Victoria’s Secret’s entry into Vancouver so exciting is that there is simply nothing else like it. It’s a brand and lifestyle that’s known to women around the globe, and it dominates in a way that none other has before. My wardrobe has been stocked with Victoria’s Secret’s exceptional bras, panties, lingerie, swimwear and women’s clothing since the days when catalogue-ordering was my only option. When Rebecca and I visited New York City on a girls’ trip several years ago, the Herald Square flagship was one of our first stops. Neither of us left empty-handed.

This newest location offers shoppers the entire line of Victoria’s Secret’s top-selling lingerie – including the Bombshell™, Very Sexy™ and Dream Angels™ collections – as well as access to specially-trained bra specialists to ensure the best fit possible. In addition to lingerie, Victoria’s Secret’s Vancouver flagship also carries the Sport and Swim lines, luxurious body care products and nearly 7,000 square feet dedicated to the collegiate-inspired bras, panties and loungewear that form the PINK collection.

Stop by in Vancouver at 750 Burrard Street (at Robson) daily from 10:00am to 9:00pm or 11:00am to 8:00pm on Sundays. Additional information about VS’s products can be found on the website, the VS catalogue or on the Android, iPhone and iPad apps. Follow along on Facebook and Twitter for the latest updates.

Guildford Town Centre Giveaway

Comments 184 by Rebecca Bollwitt

GuildfordIt’s been a big week for retail in Metro Vancouver and one of the biggest stories is the grand re-opening of Guildford Town Centre in Surrey.

As an iconic shopping hub for generations, and the official Back-to-School destination of my entire childhood, Guildford has completed a new $280 million expansion. This includes the addition of 70 stores, a 1,034-seat food court, a new Centre Court with a glass-enclosed elevator, and more.

New tenants such as H&M, Browns Shoes, Forever 21, Aritzia, Jack & Jones, Town Shoes, Kiehl’s since 1851, and SEPHORA are now open, and visitors can also view the new 10,000 square foot outdoor living wall on the exterior of the shopping centre, the largest of its kind in North America.

To kick off a new era of shopping in Surrey, Guildford is hosting a $52,000 “Yours for a Year” giveaway until September 2nd comprised of $1,000 gift cards a week for a year for one lucky guest. Visit a contest kiosk at the shopping centre to see how you can enter to win. From the LEGO Store to LUSH, Body Shop to Browns, there’s something for everyone.

Guildford Town Centre Giveaway

To celebrate the grand opening, I have two gift cards (valued at $50) to give away. Here’s how you can enter to win one of them:

  • Leave a comment naming the “must have” fall item you’re shopping for this season (1 entry)
  • Post the following on Twitter (1 entry)
RT to enter to win a $50 gift card for @ShopGTC from @Miss604 http://ow.ly/onp7W

I will draw two winners at random who will each receive a gift card which will be valid at all retailers within Guildford Town Centre. The draw will take place at 3:00pm on Friday, September 6, 2013.

Guildford Town Centre is located at 10355 152nd St in Surrey, just off the 152nd St exit of the Port Mann Bridge. Follow along on Twitter, Facebook, and Pinterest to see the latest fashions and events offered at Guildford.

Update The winners are @Dolphin60 and Jenny L!

Vancouver Cruise Ship Photos

Add a Comment by Rebecca Bollwitt

Fully prepared to put together a Vancouver Icons photo post today, I browsed the Miss604 Flickr Group for some inspiration and I found a beautiful shot of a cruise ship at the terminal in downtown Vancouver by Nattawot Juttiwattananon (below). While cruise ships don’t quite fit my Vancouver Icons series, there are enough colourfully composed photos in the Flickr pool to put together a (somewhat) Wordless Wednesday photo post — thanks to the 820,000 passengers on 236 sailings that we’ll see this year alone.
